Sharp, who was born in Rochester, New York in 1962, was a clarinet player, cellos, and pianos at Hochstein School of Music. Sharp received a scholarship to The Boston Conservatory for her passion for school theater. Cum Laude graduated with a B.F.A. Sharp chose to make a move into theatre after graduating Cum Laude with the B.F.A. She played in The Broadway National Tour of Carousel and debuted Off Broadway in Michael Bradford's Living in the Wind. In the improv comedy Eat the Runt, she played eight characters. Other theatre shows include Abyssinia, Aida, Thunder Knockin', Jitney, The Producers, Big Street, Suburb and Joe Turner's Come and Gone, in which Sharp performed alongside writer August Wilson himself. Sharp's talents are not restricted to screen or stage. Sharp also wrote and co-written several projects. Apart from singing, Sharp is making an album. If she's not in either front of or behind the camera, or in the studio recording songs, Sharp has a love of fitness. She is always shape boxing and studying Krav Maga.. She likes piano as well, hiking and long roadstrips. Sharp is a part of her family living located in Los Angeles.
