She covered sports for some of the largest outlets in the nation. The last decade was spent at The Washington Post covering football and basketball as well as multiple Olympics as well as Grand Slam Tennis. Nichols worked for nine years at ESPN which was where she earned two Emmy Awards. In addition, Nichols was an assistant journalist on the Monday Night Football broadcasts.
